Technical Assistant

Department: Operations
Location: Phoenix, AZ

The Technical Assistant will seamlessly connect people, ideas and information working with multiple stakeholders in high impact business decisions. This role requires more than calendar management — the ideal candidate will serve as a key thought partner, understand modern technology stacks, document and refine internal processes, execute high-impact events, and help assess the viability of strategic initiatives. In sum, the Technical Assistant is the right hand to the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) and an extension of GCON’s internal and external brand.

Responsibilities:

Executive Support

  • Manage complex scheduling and calendar coordination across multiple time zones.
  • Prepare briefing documents, agendas, and follow-ups for internal and external meetings.
  • Update and track monthly per diem.
  • Run weekly steering committee meetings.

Strategic Advisory & Decision Support

  • Participate in strategic discussions, capture insights, and help drive alignment across teams.
  • Conduct research, synthesize data, and provide support on go/no-go decisions for business initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information with discretion and tact.

Tech Stack Fluency

  • Manage Domo dashboard including maintaining and sending weekly reports, and running forecasting meetings.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and help implement new tools and systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams using shared platforms and dashboards.
  • Maintain Unanet CRM.

Process Documentation & Improvement

  • Create and maintain SOPs, internal workflows, and playbooks to ensure team alignment and efficiency.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to streamline onboarding, communications, and recurring operations.
  • Write clear, actionable documentation to support scaling and knowledge transfer.
  • Manage Supplier Report Card quarterly reporting milestones.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead planning and logistics for internal and external events including team offsites, client summits, investor meetings, and conferences.
  • Handle venue sourcing, budget management, travel coordination, vendor relationships, and onsite execution.
  • Ensure events align with company culture and strategic goals.
  • Create a strong team culture organizing team building activities and community outreach in coordination with Marketing and Business Development.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in administrative management functions.
  • Deep alignment with GCON’s mission, vision, and values, including strong cultural competence and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to think analytically and recognize patterns.
  • Outstanding leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a proactive sense of urgency in a fast paced, quickly changing environment.
  • Discreetly and seamlessly manage sensitive information and maintain privacy and confidentiality of all documents and communication.
  • Easily able to identify and propose solutions to gaps in systems to increase efficiency and maximize organization.
  • Extensive experience managing projects with complex workstreams, managing complex decision-making processes, including stakeholders with diverse needs and interests, and laterally managing team leads.
  • Maintain firm independence and abide by string inherent, ethical framework.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and social media web platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Chief of Staff or assistant to Executive Staff.
  • Experience with CMIC, DOMO, and Unanet.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
